What is Virgin Remy Human Hair? Virgin Remy human hair can be categorised in the ‘premium’ segment, as far as hair quality is concerned. This is because it had never been tampered with chemically e.g. coated with silicon or Teflon to prevent tangling; coloured with dyes; or re- textured to create additional features such as curls or kinks. This means that Virgin Remy human hair is hair that it is in its best condition. Furthermore, the cuticles on each strand of hair have been meticulously aligned so that they run in the same direction, from root to tip, just like growing hair lies so that tangling and matting are prevented.

What is Virgin Human Hair? This is hair that has been never been put through any chemical processes. This means that it has never been chemically treated to create a feature e.g. straight hair treated to create curls or kinks. It has never been dyed or coloured or treated with Keratin or proteins in order to create a desired effect. This hair is kept in its natural state by the donor and wefted or tied onto a wig in that condition once it has been hand washed and disinfected.
Not all virgin hair is arranged with cuticles intact and aligned.
This means that non- Remy virgin hair will tangle and prove difficult to manage.

What is Remy Human Hair? This is hair that has its cuticle intact and has been aligned so that they lie in the natural way that hair grows i.e. in the same direction from root to tip, to prevent tangling. The cuticles found on each strand of real human hair protect the hair from damage and give the hair its natural look and luster. Not all hair that is sold as Remy hair is also Virgin hair. A lot of the Remy hair sold on the market has been coated with Silicon or Teflon in order to make it tangle free, or chemically processed to produce curls or kinks which do not come naturally to that hair type. Once any hair has been through such processing, it is no longer ‘virgin’ hair.  Non- Virgin Remy hair will not l ast as long as Virgin Remy hair because after just a matter of months the chemicals which create the features of non- virgin hair e.g. curls and kinks, will wash out or disintegrate and the hair will lose its sheen, become dry, brittle and very difficult for the wearer to maintain.
